Step 4: Reviewing Your Fundraising Campaign
You certainly deserve a rest after wrapping up your campaign, but do yourself a favour and perform a brief recap with your committee. It will help you or your predecessors for the next fundraising endeavour.
Some questions to ask yourselves:
- Did you reach your financial goal?
- If not, what went wrong and how could you do better next time?
- If you did, would you repeat the campaign in the future, do something similar, or something totally different?
- Did you participants enjoy it? Can you count on them for help next time?
- Did the donors find there was value in the fundraiser?
- Will your committee rejoin next year? You’ve got a lot of experience under your belt now. Next time will be even easier and certainly more successful.
Wrapping things up…
- Just in case your team doesn’t get back together next time, create a file from your campaign to pass along to the next committee (contacts, volunteer list, checklists, calendars, etc.).
- Send out Thank-You Letters to participants, donors, and sponsors.
- Collect photos, videos, letters from those benefiting from your fundraiser. Pass them along to everyone involved so they can see how worthwhile their efforts were.
